Google AdWords Launches New Click To Call Bid Adjustments

Click To Call Bid Adjustments are like a boon to Businesses that depend more on Calls than website clicks.
Businesses that advertised on Google Search Network were suffering since they had almost no control over when their call extensions were being displayed in search results.
In many Industries, there is a better conversion in ads when the user is able to see the call extension.

For Example, I am expert in optimizing and managing emergency services related Google AdWords Campaigns.

Services that benefit from Click To Call Extensions:
1. Mobile repair Services.
2. Washing machine repair services.
3. AC repair services.
4. Refrigerator repair services.
5. Taxi Booking Services.
6. Car Towing Services.
7. Plumbing Services and much more.

In the above-mentioned industries the users searching on Google are in a hurry and wants to discuss their problem with service providers over a call and if things go right they will immediately avail their services.

Here was the actual problem the call extensions would show up occasionally and they had their own unstable pattern, I have been observing there are some particular days where the call extension never shows up and someday the call extension doesn’t show up for a particular keyword and the day this happens my clients businesses used to suffer since they were getting fewer calls.

Click to Call Extension Observation In Past :
My Observation here was if there are 4 ads in which the 2nd or 3rd ad shows up a Call Extension with a phone number it is more likely that it will get a lead than the first position ad without call extension.

 

Well Practically speaking there was no way to control when this click to call extension was displayed in Google ads, hence with this new feature of click to call bid adjustment will help the advertisers to have control over their call extensions which indirectly gives them control to get more and more potential leads calling them.

We Feel Problem Is Not Completely Solved:
Even though this may not provide complete control with a guarantee that if we apply this the call extension will display for sure. But yes if we use right bid adjustment value there are chances that our click to call extension will display more often than before.

Click To Call Bid Adjustment is not available on present AdWords Interface:
There is a catch here currently the new click to call bid adjustment is available only in new AdWords Beta interface.

 

Steps to implement Click To Call Bid Adjustment feature:
Step 1: log in to your AdWords account.
Step 2: Make Sure you are in new Adwords interface.( If you are in older interface click on the bottom right notification which says click here to experience the new AdWords beta version)
Step 3: Select a campaign for which you wish to set click to call bid adjustment.
Step 4: Select Advanced bid adjustments in the sub menu.
Step 5: Now you can see Calls below interaction type.
Step 6: In the same row of calls you can set bid adjustments from -90% to 900%.

Note: If you wish to avoid displaying of call extension you can also set bid adjustment to -99%.

Conclusion:
Overall this feature is a boon for businesses where there is a higher conversion on calls than clicks to the website.
Looks Like Google has solved a deadly problem which most of the Google AdWords Advertisers were feeling victims of without any proper control over it.
This will for sure help Google to increase its revenues from advertisers who will start using higher bid adjustments to receive more calls to drive their sales or services business.
